The Ranger™ combination GPU is equipped with an eco-friendly, diesel engine (2 Cylinder, 14hp) and a permanent magnet generator to provide you with up to 150 Amps of clean, continuous, no duty cycle power. A more economical alternative to the Patent Pending Self-Propelled “HI-BRD 4™” (which provides 300 Amps of continuous power for powering aircraft systems as well as a 26V battery bank which can start any type of engine), the Ranger™ comes in with a smaller engine and a lower price, making it one of the smallest, quietest, most advanced and most affordable autonomous diesel GPUs on the market.
The Ranger™ – is the only GPU on the market using START PAC®’s signature, state of the art safe Lithium Ion batteries for aircraft engine starting. There may be instances when you are away from the hangar and have no access to AC power; you also don’t want to waste time moving aircraft from the flight line to the hangar by tug. You will definitely want to jump start your fleet of aircraft and perform maintenance on various cockpit systems such as inverters, avionics and GPS. In some cases, the Ranger will also allow you to power up the on board air conditioning.
In order to be able to start any type of engine – including turbine engines on voltage sensitive aircraft – the unit is equipped with a full 26V safe lithium-ion battery bank rating 2800 peak amps. These batteries are sealed, contain no liquid and will outlast standard lead batteries by a factor of two to three. They also do not suffer from any sulfation issues that will cause them to fail prematurely from being left sitting in a discharged state. Full 26V lead acid battery pack configuration is also available upon request.
The Ranger™ unit will allow your turbine engines to experience faster and cooler engine starts than with most ship’s aircraft batteries (the turbine is spooled to more revolutions per second before fuel is injected). Thus, turbine life will be extended because there is less stress on the starter and other engine components. This will preserve the aircraft’s costly batteries and help lower operating costs. When using your START PAC®’s integrated power supply, you save the on-board battery for emergency use only. As a START PAC® secures all your engine starts, this unit will ensure that you have no downtime. The environmentally responsible, low VOC powder coating protects the case from wear, tear and poor weather conditions.
Made in the USA and developed with the latest state-of-the-art battery and power management technology, our products are trusted the world over.
